Camp FAQ's

1) Who are the camps available for and when do they run?

Camps are open for all children of Primary Age and will run for selected weeks during the summer between 9-3pm.

2) Where are the camps?

We have camps based around the city: Whitlawburn Community Centre (Cambuslang), Bannerman High (Baillieston), Rosshall Academy (Crookston), Uni of Glasgow (City Centre), Merrylee Primary (Cathcart), South Lanarkshire Eastfield (Rutherglen)

3) My child has never done anything like this before, can they still attend?

We have lots of children who are attending their first camp. Our coaches are there to help them along, make them feel welcome and to make sure they have lots of fun!

4) Is there lunch provided?

Due to our camps not all having kitchen facilities, we do not provide lunches or snacks. Children should come to camp with a packed lunch and snacks for during lunchtime and breaks. Most of our camps have access to refill water bottles but we would always recommend to bring 2 bottles just in case.

5) My Child has allergies, will they be safe at camps?

Yes, we have had children attend with a wide range of allergies ranging from mild to severe. When booking online, please fill out the section for dietary requirements so we can make any arrangements for that camp. If there is additional information for severe allergies please email us at info@united-sports-limited.com with a detailed description of any medical notes. Please note that our coaches are unable to physically deliver any medication but can observe and assist wherever possible.

6) Do UTD Sports accept childcare vouchers/Tax credits?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept any childcare vouchers or tax credits. We have enquired with the Care Commission on the process to be able to accept these however they have informed us that we don't fall under the correct category.

7) Can I book over the phone or in person on the day of camp?

No, we require all bookings to be made online at www.united-sports-limited.com. This is so we have all information needed for the child and parent in the unlikely event of an emergency. Our coaches also do not carry cash on camp days so are unable to take cash payments.

8) Are there pictures/video's taken at camp?

Yes, our coaches will regularly photograph or take videos at camp. This is strictly for promotional reasons and to share on our social media channels so that parents/guardians can see what has happened at camp that day. All photographic material is sent to the social media manager to be stored securely and immediately deleted from the coaches device in line with Child Protection and the UTD Sports Social Media Policy. Should a child's registration show they have not given permission for photo/video consent they will not be included in any photo/video materials.

9) Are all coaches PVG and First Aid trained?

All of our coaches are members of the PVG scheme, this is a must have to enable them to work with children. All of our Head Coaches and selected coaches are also Sports Injury First Aid trained. In the event of First Aid needing to be used, Accident Report Forms will be completed and signed by the Head Coach and Parent/Guardian at the end of the day. Due to online registration, Head Coaches will have access to Parent/Guardian phone numbers in the event of an emergency.

10) What does my child need to bring to camp?

We would always recommend bringing comfortable sports clothing, trainers (moulded football boots for football camp), 2 water bottles, packed lunch, snack, suncream and a jacket.
